This Wedding Spotlight is one of our favorite examples.
Hosted at Concepcion Studio & Co. in Bakersfield, this intimate celebration welcomed approximately 50 guests with an overall wedding investment of around $10,000. Rather than stretching that budget across a much larger guest list, the couple focused on creating an extraordinary experience for the people who mattered most.
Every decision reflected that philosophy.

When you’re not trying to host 200 people, every dollar has the opportunity to work harder.
Instead of paying for more tables, more meals, and a larger venue, you can invest in the things your guests will actually remember.

That was exactly this couple’s mindset.

When Candles Become the Decor
One of our favorite things about this wedding is that candles weren’t simply an accessory.
They were the décor.
Rather than filling the room with oversized floral centerpieces, the couple intentionally kept the florals minimal and allowed candlelight to become the defining design element.
It completely transformed the atmosphere.
Guests entered a room layered with warm light, dramatic height, and movement. The ceremony aisle was framed with glowing candle clusters, the head table was anchored by elegant silver candelabras, and the reception tables shimmered beneath premium oil candles and extra-tall flameless tapers.
Instead of asking,
“How many flowers should we have?”
the design centered around a different question:
“How do we want our guests to feel?”
That answer shaped every candle we placed.

Investing in Atmosphere
People often ask us how much couples should budget for candles.
The truth is, there’s no single answer.
Every installation we create is customized around the couple’s priorities.
For this wedding, the couple chose several of our premium offerings, including oil pillar candles, oil taper candles, extra-tall flameless tapers, silver candelabras, and dramatic layered aisle installations.
Because candlelight became the primary design feature of the reception, their custom candle installation represented an investment of approximately $1,600.
That wasn’t simply an investment in candles.
It was an investment in atmosphere.
The glow guests experienced throughout the evening became one of the defining elements of the celebration and one of the reasons the photography and videography feel so timeless.
Could This Wedding Have Been Done for Less?
Absolutely.
One of the things we enjoy most is helping couples understand that luxury isn’t about copying someone else’s budget—it’s about creating a feeling.
This couple intentionally selected our premium oil candle collection because they wanted candlelight to be the focal point of the evening.
Another couple could achieve a similarly romantic atmosphere by incorporating our signature sand wax candle installations, tea lights, decorative lamps, or a combination of those elements.
